World Music Concerts – Novos Ares

The Livelighter World Music 2023 concert series showcases a diversity of high-quality music and dance from around the globe. Enjoy a free Sunday afternoon sojourn at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.

Novos Ares are a quality Latin salsa ensemble featuring talented Cuban musicians, pianist Moha Builo Michel and bassist Arvis Mena. Moha recently relocated to Western Australia and has quickly become one of the most in-demand salsa pianists in Perth. He met his Australian musical partner, jazz flautist Annalisa Powell, at a Brazilian ‘roda de choro’ on the magical island of Florianopolis. Together, they formed Novos Ares to perform their Latin repertoire from Cuba, Brazil, Cuban and Argentina and have recently developed an outstanding ensemble featuring some of Perth’s top Latin jazz musicians.
