4. Breathe in salty air cruising the coast in a 4WD

Mandurah is the closest place to Perth you can drive right on the beach! Let your vehicle feel the sand between its tyres, stop and have a swim, cook lunch on the beach and do a spot of fishing. Preston Beach  and Tim’s Thicket are the best spots to go.

Before entering the track you will have to lower your tyres’ pressure to prevent getting bogged in the sand. Please also pay attention to the tide and turn back if the tide is coming in.

Keep in mind that 4WDing is prohibited in the dunes and is only permitted on the beach and that no other vehicles are allowed including dirt bikes, 4 wheelers or buggies.

5. Use your paddle power to explore the vast waterways

With rivers, estuaries, lakes, canals and 60km of coastline, there are so many waterways you can explore by canoe, kayak or paddleboard. Find out more here.

6. Zip, jump and slide through the forest on a mountain bike

7. Cruise Mandjar Bay by Waterbike

Step aboard a sleek catamaran cycle from Mandurah Waterbikes and cruise Mandurah’s Mandjar Bay and canals by waterbike. These can be hired for 30 minutes or an hour. Dolphin sightings are almost guaranteed but fun for definitely!

8. Take to the skies on a scenic flight or sky-dive

Take to the skies with the Royal Aero Club of WA or for the ultimate in sky-high adventure, book a Mandurah beach or Pinjarra tandem sky dive with WA Skydiving Academy.
