Crab Tales – A Festival’s Journey Through Time

Step back in time and explore the fascinating evolution of Mandurah’s iconic Crab Fest at the Crab Tales exhibition!

Discover how a simple love for crabbing sparked a festival that has grown from 3,000 attendees in 1999 to over 100,000 visitors today.

Through captivating photos, newspaper clippings, and video highlights, relive quirky past events like the Crazy Crab Capers, the Celebrity Bed Race, and Opera on the Bay.

Admire stunning artwork by local artist Emma Blyth, inspired by the beloved blue manna crab and Mandurah’s coastal charm.

  • Dates: 4th March – 4th April 2025
  • Times: Tuesday – Friday from 10am – 3pm

 

Crab Fest Weekend Activities – 15 & 16 March
The Mandurah Museum will open its doors during Crab Fest weekend with fun, hands-on activities for all ages:

  • Art & Craft Workshops – Join talented local artists to decorate a wooden surfboard or dolphin and create origami crabs, fish, and boats.
  • Blue Swimmer Crab Quiz – Test your knowledge and enter the draw to win a LEGO set!

All materials provided | Suitable for ages 5+ (younger children may need assistance).

Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible, ACROD parking, accessible toilets onsite.
