Discover the beauty and versatility of watercolour painting in this beginner-friendly workshop guided by Pat Joyce, presented as part of Mandurah Arts Festival 2026.

Through a step-by-step demonstration, you’ll learn the foundations of working with watercolours, from choosing the right paper, paints and brushes to transferring a picture outline onto the page.

Explore a range of essential watercolour techniques, including wet-on-wet, lifting out, hard and soft edges, scrumbling, spattering, and working with light and shade. You’ll then put your new skills into practice to create your own finished painting to take home.

All materials and morning tea are provided, making this a relaxed and welcoming opportunity to try watercolours and build the confidence to continue creating at home.
