WA Symphony Orchestra Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony

Experience an evening of tragedy, triumph and extraordinary orchestral music as the West Australian Symphony Orchestra performs Tchaikovsky’s powerful Fifth Symphony at Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.

Charting an emotional journey from brooding darkness to triumphant brilliance, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 explores themes of fate, struggle and resilience through soaring melodies and sweeping orchestral climaxes.

Providing a poignant contrast is the lyrical and tender Intermezzo from Act III of Puccini’s Manon Lescaut, while Australian composer Lachlan Skipworth’s Concerto for Flute and Orchestra delivers a colourful and virtuosic showcase written especially for WASO Principal Flute, Andrew Nicholson.

Led by conductor Asher Fisch, this captivating program brings together three distinctive works for a powerful celebration of orchestral music.
