Walk & Draw Mandurah

Slow down, look around and discover a different side of Mandurah’s waterways and landscapes with Walk and Draw – Coodanup Foreshore.

Led by professional artist and illustrator Angharad Neal-Williams, this relaxed guided drawing workshop invites participants to explore the Coodanup Foreshore while developing their observational drawing skills.

Wander along the foreshore’s accessible pathways, stopping along the way to sketch landscapes, waterside scenes, interesting objects and small moments in the environment. Angharad will share practical drawing tips and gentle creative prompts to help you capture what you see with greater confidence.

You’ll create a series of small sketches during the walk before using the techniques you’ve discovered to develop a more resolved drawing. No previous drawing experience is required—just curiosity and a willingness to slow down and see Mandurah from a different perspective.

The walk covers approximately 1 kilometre return along a combination of paved paths, gravel and compacted earth, with opportunities to stop and draw along the way.

This is a wonderful experience for visitors looking to combine art, nature and Mandurah’s beautiful coastal environment, as well as locals wanting to try something creative outdoors.

What to bring

• Hat and sunscreen
• Water
• Comfortable clothing and walking shoes
• An outdoor folding chair if you would like to sit while drawing
• Your own drawing materials if preferred

Basic drawing supplies will be available for participants to use.

Make a day of it

After the Walk and Draw session, stick around at Coodanup Foreshore for Wind and Story, a free community concert presented by Mandurah Concert Band and Winjan Aboriginal Corporation. The afternoon will also feature children’s activities and a sausage sizzle fundraiser.
