The Mandurah Train Line runs right through Perth from all the way up in the city to all the way down to Mandurah. With a frequent train timetable, it’s never been so easy to escape on a holiday!

Plus – tickets are cheap as chips! Varying from $5.10 for a 2 Zone fare, to the Family Rider package $10.30, these prices certainly beat the cost of petrol for a car trip!

Jump on the Mandurah shuttle bus when you arrive at the train station to quickly get to your accommodation and settle in. Your train ticket will get you on a bus trip for free too, what a bonus!

The beautiful Venetian style canals beside the Mandurah Ocean Marina or the Dawesville Channel Walks both offer a stunning walk as you watch dolphins swim past. Creery Wetlands Reserve Trail

Take a walk on the 3km loop that circles the 29-hectare Creery Wetlands Reserve. Take your binoculars for bird watching (the wetlands are home to 22 species of migratory shorebirds!) and spotting other native wildlife and enjoy the fascinating wonderland hidden in the wetlands.

Spirit of the Landscape Art Exhibition

This exhibition celebrates the vast landscapes of rural, regional and remote Australia, through the eyes of exhibiting artists.

In telling these stories, artists may choose to reference place, the people of remote communities, the topography of the landscape or the challenges of living and working in remote Australia. This carefully curated selection of award-winning artists will ensure a high standard of work while acknowledging their continued involvement and support of the Plein Air Down Under Outdoor Painting Festival.

Rotary Family Fun Day and Duck Race

The Rotary Family Fun Day and Duck Race is held each year on Easter Saturday (30th March 2024) on the Eastern Foreshore in Mandurah. There is a program of free music and entertainment throughout the day, market stalls, novelty events, children’s activities, displays and the annual Duck Race in mid-afternoon on the estuary.

This is an annual event designed for Rotary to say ‘thanks’ to the community for support during the previous 12 months. More than 50 volunteers (Rotarians, families and friends) are required to conduct the event, with help from many other community groups in Mandurah.

Be delighted, challenged and intrigued by the annual Masterpieces Art Competition and Exhibition celebrating the depth of talent of Mandurah’s local emerging artists. Look out for practical art workshops leading into the exhibition specifically designed for creative youths.

To begin your adventure, you’ll head to the Mandurah Visitor Centre where you can pick up your map and the clues to each Giant location. Once everyone is ready, you’ll head to the first Giant – Santi Ikto (fun fact: all Giants are named with inspiration after people Thomas Dambo knows).

With the trail starting at Calypso Road near Halls Head you’ll be delighted to discover that there’s a great selection of places to grab a bite for breakfast or lunch.

Spill the Beans at Seascapes

Address: 6/141 Boardwalk Blvd, Halls Head.

Open: Mon – Sun, 7am to 4pm.

A cosy café with plenty of spots to sit indoors and outdoors, this is a great place for breakfast for the whole family. Situated close to the coast, enjoy the fresh ocean breeze as you sip on your cappuccino. Be sure to check out Spill the Beans’ changing daily specials that are available for lunch.

With 2 locations in Mandurah (Mandurah Terrace & Halls Head Parade) TODS Café has become a well-known spot in the city. The Halls Head café is located right beside the water, allowing customers to enjoy their breakfast, lunch and/or coffee whilst overlooking the Indian Ocean. With an all-day breakfast, lunch menu, selection of toasted sandwiches and wraps as well as a kids menu—there’s something for everyone at TODS.

Nori is offering an Asian fusion menu for lunch and dinner at the shopping mall Halls Head Central. Boasting a fresh and filling menu of sashimi, sushi and bento boxes, Nori’s a great choice for those looking for a tasty and filling meal. Plus, their presentation makes them a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds.

Once you’ve met Santi Ikto, you’ll begin your adventure to the second Giant on the map, Seba’s Song. With the trail starting at Estuary Place at Wannanup, take in the beautiful estuary views as you get closer and closer to the next Giant.

Reward yourself for finding Seba’s Song with a delicious treat from one of the nearby cafes or restaurants.

Café Coast Waterfront Restaurant

Open: Monday, 9.30am to 3pm.

Tuesday – Friday, 9.30am to 8.30pm.

Take in the impressive coastal views by visiting the nearby Café Coast Waterfront Restaurant. With waterside dining, you can admire this beautiful spot as you enjoy a hearty breakfast or a delicious lunch, there’s also a special kids menu for the little ones. The restaurant’s welcoming atmosphere and friendly service make it a must-visit spot for those exploring the area.

La Belle Patisserie & High Tea House

Address: 2 Village Mews, Wannanup.

Open: Sat & Sun, 7am to 3pm.

Mon-Fri, 7am to 2pm.

La Belle meaning, “the beautiful,” this patisserie and high tea house lives up to its name. Presenting an impressive range of croissants, pastries, flans, sweet and savoury crepes, baguettes and sandwiches, spoil yourself to a decadent array of French-inspired snacks to keep you energised for the rest of your trip. Pop in for a bite, or book a high tea experience in advance, either way you won’t be disappointed.

Friar Tuck’s Irish Bar/Restaurant

Address: 6 Rees Place, Wannanup.

Open: Mon-Sun, 11.30am to 10pm.

One of Mandurah’s favourite Irish pubs, Friar Tuck’s is an ideal spot to enjoy a satisfying and filling meal washed down with a beverage. If you’re unsure when you’ll finish admiring Seba’s Song, not to worry, the venue’s spacious 100 seater restaurant allows for walk-ins at any time. Warm, welcoming and quintessentially Irish, Friar Tuck’s is a family-friendly spot that you’ll look forward to in your itinerary.

The Cut Tavern

Address: 9 Rod Court, Wannanup.

Open: Mon-Sun, 10am to 11pm.

Located by the picturesque Dawesville Channel, The Cut Tavern offers more than just stunning views. This popular establishment serves up delicious lunch and dinner options, as well as drinks and a kids’ menu. Plus, visitors can take advantage of tempting specials that run Monday through Friday. An ideal place to relax as you explore Mandurah’s Giants.

Falcon Bay Beach Café

Address: 11 Spinaway Parade, Falcon.

Open: Sat & Sun, 7am to 5pm.

Mon-Fri, 7am to 3pm.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this family-run cafe ensures every meal delights and satisfies with locally sourced ingredients, mouth-watering flavours and portions that are sure to satiate. A relaxed atmosphere located at Falcon Bay Beach visitors are welcome to pop in for a takeaway coffee as you head to the next Giant or, stay for a big meal and enjoy the rest. 

Miami Bakehouse Falcon

Address: 609 Old Coast Rd, Falcon.

Open: Sat, 6am to 4.45pm & Sun, 6.15am to 4pm.

Mon-Fri, 6.15am to 4.45pm.

One of Mandurah’s favourite bakeries, Miami Bakehouse offers a full dine-in and takeaway menu featuring all of the bakery favourites. From the WA Stirling Ranges Angus Beef to their award-winning Classic Steak Pies, and who could forget their sensational Vegan Pasties—if you need a quick and satisfying bite, Miami Bakehouse are here to serve. 

Cobblers Tavern

Address: 629 Old Coast Rd, Falcon.

Open: Mon-Sun, 11.30am to 12am.

A warm and inviting space, Cobblers Tavern has built a reputation for hearty meals, attentive staff and a lively atmosphere. Gluten free, vegetarian and kid’s meals are all available, offering a scrumptious dish for every member of the family. With Happy Hour running from 4.30pm – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday the over 18s can enjoy a glass of beer or wine whilst the kids strategise the next Giant trail.

Say a GIANT hello to Yaburgurt Cirkelstone – the much anticipated addition to the Giants of Mandurah.

You can find Yaburgurt Cirkelstone along the Coodanup foreshore, right near where his much-loved little sister Vivi Cirkelstone once stood.

Located on the land of the Bindjareb Noongar people, this new Giant has been named in consultation with Bindjareb Elders, and in honour of a respected Elder from Mandurah – Yaburgurt (George) Winjan.

Nourishing the Soul Café

Address: 40 Darwin Terrace, Dudley Park.

Open: Mon-Sun, 7.00am to 3pm.

Once you’ve marvelled at the incredible work by artist Thomas Dambo and the local volunteers, savour the experience by stopping by Nourishing the Soul Café. Boasting a delicious array of sandwiches, cakes, scones, quiches, pies and drinks—enjoy a bite and a sip over a good chat with fellow explorers.

Starting at Lake Valley Drive in Lakelands, Little Lui is the next Giant to find! Hiding amongst the open bush, beside Mandurah’s wetlands, explorers will be in for a treat when they come to the 4m high Giant.

Be sure to tighten those shoe laces and put on some sunscreen, although it’s an easy stroll, the round trip for Little Lui totals 3.6km. Stop by one of the local cafes before or after your walk to keep you and the family energised.

Chalk & Bees

Address:  Delray Lp, Madora Bay. At the Seaside Park, Madora Bay Mandurah.

Open:  Tue-Fri, 6.30am – 12pm.

Sat, 7am – 11am & Sun, 8am – 11am.

Directly opposite Lakelands Shopping centre in the new Seaside Estate, Chalk & Bees is a food van specialising in delicious gluten free food and drinks. Featuring a delectable menu of toasties, bagels, acai bowls and sweet and savoury toasts—grab a bite as you head on your walk or tuck into a sandwich after your visit to Little Lui. 

Isle of Lace

Address: Lake Valley Drive, Lakelands.

Open:  Mon-Fri, 6am to 11am

Sat, 8am to 12pm (*availability subject to change due to appearance at events )

Sun, closed.

A 2 minute drive from Lake Valley Drive and parked at Black Swan Lake, is the Isle Of Lace coffee and food van. Coffee and community is the Isle of Lace’s bread and butter. Anyone in the area knows this is the go-to spot for a bite to eat and a fresh cup of coffee. If you’re visiting on the weekend, be sure to check their socials to make sure they’ll be at the site.

Thorny Devil Brewery

Address: 185 Clifton Downs Rd, Herron.


Wed-Sun, 10.30am to 4pm (lunch from 11am-3pm).

Celebrate the end of your journey with a visit to Thorny Devil Brewery. The over 18s can indulge in the brewery’s signature Giants Danish Pilsner, a handcrafted beer made in collaboration with Dambo himself. Meanwhile, the little ones can tuck into the brewery’s “Little Devils” menu. This is the ideal way to end a memorable day with the Mandurah Giants.
