Inspired by the devastating Australian bushfires of 2019, KOAL is a playful yet thought-provoking performance that explores our relationship with nature, community and the environment. Through humour, compassion and powerful storytelling, the show encourages audiences to reflect on the importance of caring for and protecting our shared home.
Acclaimed performer Jacinta Yelland brings five unique characters to life, seamlessly moving between roles that offer different perspectives on loss, resilience and hope. Meet a baby koala recovering in a wildlife sanctuary after being rescued from a bushfire, an Indigenous girl separated from her home, a Coal Miner, and other memorable characters whose stories intertwine to create a deeply engaging theatrical experience.
Balancing important themes with warmth, humour and heart, KOAL gives the natural world a voice while inviting audiences of all ages to consider the impact of human actions on the environment.
