Meet The Artist: Suzy Jones of Starbright Wonderland
The Magic of Nature is a photographic collaboration between three excitable and easily encouraged photographers; Dani Musicka of BroomstickChick Photography, Jackie Campbell of Aqua Vista Photography, and Suzy Jones of Starbright Wonderland Photography
The exhibitions running from 22nd March to 28th April, during which time each photographer will be hosting a Meet The Artist evening. This event is the opportunity to get to know Suzy, her love of the night sky and what drives her passion for astrophotography.
Suzy Jones, CEO of Starbright Wonderland and the photographer creative behind AstroPortraits, is on a mission to reconnect us all to our celestial roots. Through Starbright Wonderland she aims to take you on a visual journey through our Solar System and explore our connection to nature. From the creation of the atoms that are the building blocks of us, to our cultural connection to the heavens above, our tie with the night sky is enduring.
Join Suzy and guest speaker Carol Redford, AstrotourismWA to hear a discussion on their shared love of the night sky, what inspired their curiosity, why sharing and teaching is a central part to both businesses, and the importance of protecting the night sky from ever increasing light pollution.
Carol Redford is the Founder of Astrotourism WA. She is collaborating with Local Government to develop the Dark Sky Tourism sector of Western Australia’s Tourism Industry. Together, the communities are striving to protect WA’s world-class dark night sky from artificial light pollution and brand WA the stargazing capital of the world. Carol also runs Stargazers Club WA that introduces beginners to astronomy. She is Co-Chair of WA’s astronomy and space science community, Astronomy WA, a “Dark Skies Ambassador” with the International Astronomical Union, a Dark Sky International Delegate and an Australasian Dark Sky Alliance Ambassador.

Time: 6pm onwards, talks start at 6pm with music starting at 7:30. You are welcome to stay on into the evening and enjoy the exhibition with a beer brewed on site.
