An investigation into coding through contemporary ceramics
About the Event
CASM delivers its inaugural contemporary ceramics exhibition, showcasing new works by 17 professional and emerging Peel artists.
This exhibition, presented in partnership with international event Indian Ocean Craft Triennial (IOTA) responding to the IOTA24 theme of ‘Codes in Parallel’ through their chosen craft:
“Objects often contain hidden depths, encoded in the depicted motifs and symbols, through techniques and materials, or found in their ritual or spiritual uses.”
Exhibiting artists include Shannon Baggott, Chris Britza, Gayle Bukey, Jacq Chorlton, Carol Clitheroe, Penelope Collis, Tich Dixon, Isaac Gould, Alana Grant, Amanda Harris, Patricia Hines, Kell Lakia, Jean-Michell Maujean, Lyn Nixon, Bec Thomas, Fox Ward and Hamish Webster.

Showcasing the nation’s headline comedians at the opening event of the Mandurah Arts Festival
About the Event
Following a sold-out show in 2023, the Headliners Comedy Gala returns to kick off the Mandurah Arts Festival!
For one night only, the hilarious Matt Dyktynski (previously heard on Mix 94.5 breakfast) will host a curated selection of 5 professional comedians, performing their very best material right here in Mandurah. The bar will be open and the laughs will be rolling at this brilliant night of comedy.
Book early to avoid missing out! Early bird tickets available until Friday, 9 August 2024, 9pm.

Follow a trail of locally created and inspired surfboard artworks weaving along Smart Street.
About the Event
Stunning works of art come to life on the most unusual of canvases – reclaimed surfboards!
Artwave brings together Mandurah’s surfing heritage and eight diverse local artists to create a trail of surfboard artworks leading down Smart Street to the foreshore. Each surfboard tells a uniquely Mandurah story and has been adopted by a small shop or business based in Smart Street. Follow the trail to discover the stories behind the artworks and explore Smart Street’s unique shops and businesses.
The surfboards will be displayed along Smart Street Mall throughout the Mandurah Arts Festival, with the winning collaboration will be announced on Sunday, 29 September at Mandurah Makers Market.

Visit this impactful installation featuring artwork by community members and local artists
About the Event
Falcon Library and Community Centre will come alive with ocean creatures this Mandurah Arts Festival!
This striking art installation features artwork by community members, created in a workshop by artists Julie Driver and Sharon Meredith. Using a combination of photography, digital art and crafting techniques, this installation brings the ocean into Falcon Library and Community Centre with a montaged seascape and dancing jellyfish to delight all ages.
The artwork will serve as a backdrop for the Bloom Storytelling and Diorama Activity on Tuesday, 24 September 2024.
This installation is free to view during library opening hours.

Our exceptional Mandurah Arts Festival offering showcases three incredible musical talents:
Sino Swing, gypsy-jazz swing band playing upbeat Parisian swing classics with a delicious Eastern flavour on erhu, violin, fingerpicked guitar, and double bass, George Walley, Bindjareb elder and respected musician, performs his beautiful original songs with ancient Indigenous soul,
Mahali, exciting new South African band fronted by the incredible Mahali Selepe from Leshoto, with a high energy repertoire celebrating the best of contemporary South African music.
The brilliant banquet includes a sumptuous ‘supper club’ style meal curated by Swell Fine Food catering.
World Music Café has been playing to sold-out audiences across Perth for five years and brings its multicultural magic to Mandurah for the very first time this Mandurah Arts Festival!

About the Event
Dust off your old instrument or meet new musically inclined friends at these Open Band Rehearsals! Proficient musicians, hobbyists, and former players are invited to join the Mandurah Concert Band on Tuesday nights during the Mandurah Arts Festival for their Open Rehearsals.
Whether you’re picking up your instrument for the first time in 20 years or love to play but want some company, these sessions offer a fun, low-pressure environment to practice, learn new songs, and connect with like-minded people. The Mandurah Concert Band is a community wind ensemble with members of all ages and backgrounds, united by a love of music and a dedication to entertaining the community while promoting diverse music genres.
Open Band Rehearsals are free to attend, with no commitment to join the band long-term. Those who attend all three sessions are welcome to perform with the Mandurah Concert Band at Brekkie with the Band on Saturday, 5 October.
